Harvey Francis Eckhoff, 72, Fort Walton Beach, Florida

1939 - 2011
Born 4-20-1939 and a graduate of Momence High School, he followed by a very dedicated 30 year career serving the USAF from 1958 - 1988. Chief had many tours all over the world as well as serving 2 tours in Vietnam and 1 tour in Granada. Chief Eckhoff was also very dedicated to the VFW for well over 30 years. He was elected to the VFW National Council, State Commander for 17 months, also District Commander and Department of Florida State Judge Advocate and Post 7674 Commander.
Harv leaves us for a life of eternal life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Alice; 4 children, daughter Mary and husband Dave Pearson, son, Berley and wife Deborah, son Thomas and wife Lucie, daughter Sherry Lujan and husband John, sister, Pat and husband Richard Demack, 11 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Rd. N. E. Fort Walton Beach Fl. 32547 Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, with Chaplin Doug Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to LAVFW Department of Florida for Cancer Aid and Research in memory of Harv F. Eckhoff.
Emerald Coast Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
