Easy Way To Connect Two Computers Using LAN Cable | Technology World

  • Take the LAN cable and connect one end of the cable to one computer & other end to the other computer at the back of the computer where the port for LAN cable is located.

  • Now assign a Workgroup to each computer.

If you have Windows XP as Operating system then :

  • Right-click on My Computer and select properties.

  • Click on the Change button and assign a unique Workgroup to your computer.

If you have Windows Vista or Seven as operating system then :

  • Right-click on My Computer and select properties.

  • This will open the system properties Control Panel window.
  • Click on Change settings and assign the same Workgroup as of which you assigned to the first computer.

  • Now Restart both the computers.
  • After both the systems has been restarted, On first computer, click on start menu and select ?My Network Places? and there will be a new icon of your second computer in the My Network Places.

  • You need to make the desired folder of your choice to be public so that you can access it.
  • On the second computer, click on ?Network? from the start menu and a new icon will be seen of your first computer. Any file which is shared on first computer can be found from this folder in second computer.

  • Now both the computers are connected in a network and you can easily copy/paste your files, folders and documents in those shared folders.
