SOT 51st Annual Meeting

The Society of Toxicology (SOT) 51st Annual Meeting and ToxExpo the largest meeting and expo of its kind anywhere in the world will take place from March 11-15. The five-day program will feature more than 180 sessions, presenting the latest research findings and recommendations for remedial action on a wide range of issues affecting human and animal health and the environment.

Experts will come together to provide a summary of the current status of bees and colony health and a representative from the State of California will talk about steps underway to protect bee health. Those experts will explore the complex approaches scientists are using to understand the relationship between pesticide residues and bee health and the logistical challenges of addressing these in a regulatory context.

A second session will examine the disposal of electronic waste, efforts to quantify the hazardous components of e-waste in the State of California and concerns about developmental toxicity in developing countries, where large quantities of the e-waste are being shipped.

###

The Society of Toxicology is the largest scientific not-for-profit organization for professionals from around the world who are involved in the study of toxicology. With more than 7,000 members, SOT is creating a safer and healthier world by advancing the science of toxicology. SOT is a forum for novel discoveries and approaches related to toxicology, fosters integration of sub-disciplines that support the evolution of toxicology, and, among other things, increases the impact of toxicology on human health and disease prevention.
